I received mine on Saturday :cheer .

I had completely forgotten I ordered the earbook.
I thought it was only the normal album.
What a pleasant surprise :D .
The cover simply rocks, it's the best Edguy ever had!
I haven't had time yet to look at all the pictures or listen to the CDs.
Probably will be able to do that after my two weeks holiday in Mongolia.
Very much looking forward to it.
And to the concert in autumn.

I got mine on Wednesday morning or was it Tuesday?
OMG I don't recall as all the days are mashed together when one doesn't actually sleep more than 2 hours a night/day!
:o

ANYWAY...
L O V E I T ! ! !
It's so beautifully thought out and put together.
I have wanted Edguy to do a story like, coffee table photo book for so many years now that when i finally got my hands on it, it was a real moment for me.
I can't fault anything on or in it.
Yeah, there is a slight mix up with the discs but that's Nuclearblast's issue, not the Edblokes.
But as i have promised to not bad mouth Nuclearblast anymore - WTF was i thinking when i promised that? - all i shall say is that mistakes are made.
Mistake or not, nothing is taken away from what a special release it is.
In ANYWAY!
I'm soooo truly proud of Edguy.
:woohoo: <3

Ok Missy, stay away from the Gobi Death Worms, Ticks and Lice!
Get someone Herbie Hot to check you over every day for ticks because i want you coming home in the one beautiful piece you are leaving in... No stow aways unless it is the Hottie!!!
Understood?
Please be careful and i hope you have an amazing and mind blowing time.
It's meant to be such a stunning part of the world.

Got my digibook a day earlier (13th of July) whilst in the North on vacation... though I still haven't listened or watched anything! :o How sucky can you get?

I'm back home now, so I bet I'll have time! :)

I did have a look at the booklet, actually, and loved the photos!

I'm puzzled: why isn't there any song from "Kingdom of Madness"? Disowned by the band? :(

Does anybody know if Tobi mentioned it in an interview? I've been quite away from the Internet from... the past year ( ) to be aware of such a thing...

Hiya Titi!
I'm on my way out to do the grocery shop for the week SO i shall look the answers up for you and post it back here later, in Tobi's words.
HOWEVER in the meantime, from memory Edguy decided not to include anything from The Kingdom Of Madness due to that being the only album they were unable to remaster for this release due to the original recordings being on tape and they weren't happy with how it sounded.
I COULD BE WRONG!
So that is a quick answer, FOR NOW.
:P

And you aren't sucky...
Life has a way of keeping us all busy in different ways.

Tobi said in an interview (my interview... hint hint  ) that they don't have access to the master tapes for Kingdom of Madness and, like Muppet said, the production is awful. I'm sure they could've included the "Wings of a Dream" re-recording though.

I KNEW it was something, kinda, sorta like that!
:P

Thank you for saving me having to go through everything looking for the answer.
AND great interview btw!

Thanks A LOT for the answer, Ness and Lord, and for your great interview!

That's indeed an understandable reason. And a very sad one too: the band itself doesn't have the master tapes!!! Who does, then? :o

And I had also thought about the 2001 version of "Wings of a Dream"... or maybe they could have recorded a 2017 version of another song from the album :P (I loved the energy they put in that re-recording, same as with "Children of Steel".)

Even though I now have the reason why, I can't help thinking it's really sad that, as a retrospective, an album is missing. :(

You are more than welcome Titi.
I did nothing but for once i'm going to take your thanks for it anyway!
 :P

And i felt the same way as you do.
I find it rather sad too.
Where ever those tapes have ended up, i hope they find their way back home to Edguy.

I would LOVE some re-recordings of Kingdom of Madness (specifically The Kingdom) lets.

Please Tobi!!!!!!

Ok back on topic

I got my earbook 2nd edition Friday and holy crap this thing is beefy. I haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but I flipped through the pictures and its pretty cool watching the band "growing up." I wish there was a bit more linear notes or a detailed auto biography of what was going on during those times. Still, I do not regret my 80? dollar purchase.

Finally listened to it! More than once, as we drove quite a long time this week, and this was a perfect soundtrack to hit the road :)

I love the new tracks, especially "Open Sesame", "Landmarks" and "The Mountaineer".

"Reborn in the Waste" is a special treat indeed, funny to see how Dominik's drum patterns were already to be found in other songs. AND THAT KEYBOARD SOLO! :D

The whole flows really well, it's a really nice selection, with all the singles in it.

Now I still have to watch the DVD before resuming school! 8)
