Hey all - just recently stumbled upon both Edguy and Avantasia and continue to kick myself for it taking me so long!! I have had every album on nonstop on Spotify for the past month or so since Monuments popped up on my "recommendations". I am very interested in purchasing the albums and concert blue rays but am worried that they will not work stateside due to region coding. Can anyone let me know if that is the case? And if so - what are my options? I hope they work because my intention is to start giving these as gifts to all my buddies who have no clue about these amazing bands. Thank you for your time!

Welcome on board(s)! :)

To answer your question, I think you can purchase the DVDs: I've just checked my "Live in Sao Paulo" and "Monuments" editions, both are "0" (region free) so readable by any DVD player. Not sure about Blu-Rays... I mean, did the Sao Paulo live get a Blu-Ray release? Not sure about that :P

Great news! Thank you very much. Gonna try first with the flying opera blue ray.

Gosh, for some reason I stuck with Edguy releases!

I checked my Avantasia DVD (didn't have a Blu-Ray player at that time, and anyway, even now I don't have the image and sound setting to enjoy the extra quality ^^) and it's also 0 - region free.

I've just seen on Amazon that the Blu-Ray is "all regions" so you should be fine.

Enjoy the ride! :)

He makes the songs be even catchier, as his voice sounds strong and emotional, as said before, and it may be good for the listener since one may feel much more "in the mood" when listening to the songs.
