wow, really a lot of bands that you saw in only one festival. Too bad I can only offer 15 Avantasia concerts.

Kamelot with Delain and Eklipse, 09.24.2013..

Kamelot played far too many songs from Ghost Opera, The Great Pandemonium and Poetry For The Poisoned, but Tommy does bring a freshness to those songs.

One of the highlights was when the keyboardist (the guy from Epica that's filling in for Oliver) played a passage from Wander.. THAT was awesome. :)

What...?! Really? Omg that's terrible. I'm so sorry :( Where did you stand? Every time I saw Maiden they were perfect. The only show I had the "pleasure" to "enjoy" with bad sound was Within Temptation... Couldn't hear anything of Sharon and the whole thing sounded awful, I was actually glad for it to end.

This is just so annoying, especially that concert tickets have stellar prices, and people often travel quite literally half the world to see their favourite bands.

Bah, I'm really sorry it was that bad. Especially that it was Maiden :(

Helloween last night at the Opera House in Toronto. Stranger, I think I saw you but I'm not sure; I was wearing the black-and-blue Wacken 2010 tee.

Had a pretty great time on the whole. I experimented this time by not going into the pit at all. Rather, I found this vantage point just atop the stairs leading down into the pit, which let me see the band relatively close while not having to worry about people's heads being in my line of sight, which is typically a pit-problem for me.

The band must be mighty proud of the new record, taking five tracks from it on the whole: Nabataea, Live Now!, Straight Out Of Hell, Waiting For The Thunder and Hold Me In Your Arms. Now granted, when a band has fourteen discs to their name it's going to be impossible to totally please everyone in a single setlist, though I admit I was hoping for some Gambling With The Devil material. The double-encore was excellent though, with the triple punch of Dr. Stein, Future World and I Want Out sealing the deal. This is my first Helloshow, so being able to see the "obligatory classics" for the first time was pretty awesome.

Also, Deris's Toy Master hat :P

I was wearing a Place Vendome shirt, felt appropriate since Deris and Kiske switched places :P.

Yeah, I wish we got more earlier Deris tracks. I absolutely hated the new album, so I was pretty excited when we got Power, Steel Tormentor, and If I Could Fly. I wish we got some songs from Keeper Legacy though. I only wish I was a 20 year old man in 1994, where I could see Kiske Era Helloween.
I swear Angel of Babylon is about anal sex.

Oh man, Steel Tormentor. Was so happy when they played that, since it's one of my favourite cuts from the early Deris albums. Come to think of it, I remember someone stepping into the pit wearing a white lab coat...a Dr. Stein cosplayer? :P

In 1994 Kiske was already out of Helloween. He left at the end of 1993. ;)

Helloween last night in Joliet. Opening bands Lords of the trident, ancient dreams, divinity compromised all kicked ass especially lords of the trident! Helloween kicked ass as well even deris was at the top ofhis game imo im more of a kiske fan but andi totally pleased my ears. Highlights were Eagle fly free, Live now, im alive, waiting for the thunder, hell was made in heaven, dr stein, power. I actually like the new album more now after going to the show the songs work well live really well. I will go next time they are here! Markus and Weikath both pointed at me...it was amazing :)
