Realism is something from another world now in games...

I'm a big big big racing simulator fan, and this one is pushing the limits to the extreme...

ISI (Image Space Incorporated) created Rfactor 2 with a little extra no one was able to do yet...

They now have real time tires deformation...

You can now visually see the tire wear AND if you lock the brakes long enough, you'll create flat spots...

Real time tire wear :

Real time deformation (flat spots on the left tire)

Flat spots are not only visual, they really deform the tire !

Here's a short clip about it (you can hear the flat spot making the suspension rattle each time it hits the road)

Lemmy's death. It had to happen, but that's still a shock, as he seemed unbreakable.

I know.
After recent pictures though and his inability to sing anymore, i knew it was only a matter of time.
:hug

What shocked me today? I typed out a huge response about it but then i realised it isn't even worth me posting about. I guess i just shocked myself with how little i'm beginning to care about things lately... But it is also making me happy because this side of me has been hiding for far too long! Means i've gone to a whole new level of awesome!

Meeting the little brother of a friend after I don't know how many years. I don't remember when I last saw him before today, but it must have been five years, maybe longer. Suddenly he's not a little boy anymore but a sixteen year old with dark hair and a deep voice. Especially the voice was a shock  Time, what did you do to him? I've known him since he was a baby and now I barely recognized him  It's that his mum said typical mum things to him but I was wondering for a moment what he was doing in that house :razz

What shocked me today?

Hmmm, i don't know if i should talk about it or not BUT i have to say it somewhere as i actually found it really bitchy/cruel.

I have a 'friend' and i use that loosely as she is really a friend of a friend and doesn't actually know me that well, which makes it even worse that she decided to call and share it with me too. Makes me wonder who else she has shared it with and laughed about it.

ANYWAY, her husband wrote and recorded her a song, just to say how much he loves her and she bagged the absolute CRAP out of it behind his back and has been laughing at it. She even played it to me down the phone and, ok, it wasn't anything spectacular BUT HE WROTE HER A SONG AND RECORDED IT FOR HER... For no other reason than he loves her.

Is it just me, or is that a truly bitchy thing to do to him, to share it around and bag/laugh at him like that all the while telling him how much she loves it and finds it beautiful?

Bitchy is the word indeed. Did she, at least at one point, mention that it was cute, that she loves him or something like that?

Thank you because when i pulled her up on her behaviour and told her how i felt like she betrayed her husband and that she doesn't deserve something so beautiful like what he did, she cracked the shits with me. Which i don't care, she wasn't my friend to start with and i don't want someone like her in my life. If she is like that to her husband, imagine how she would be behind my back?

But no, not once did she call him cute or refer to him in a positive manner. She was too busy laughing and mocking him. Making cringing sounds and asking what she saw in him to start with.
:(

I don't understand people that stay together if they aren't happy and don't even like who they are with. It kills my belief in love a little, as i seem to keep coming across people like this. Mostly females. Females are bitches when it comes to talking about their other halves. I hope i never end up like that.

What shocked me today?
I looked in the mirror and i had a single nose hair sticking out just slightly. Not huge or long or anything TOO hideous BUT it WAS there!

Doesn't that ONLY happen to men as they get older?
*hides face*

SERIOUSLY?

Do you want to hear the worst of it though?

I only felt it was there as i felt something tickling me whenever i inhaled and i thought maybe a flaky bit of snot or stray pet hair had got stuck up there so i went searching for what was tickling me... IT WAS THE HAIR! God, my eyes watered plucking that sucker!!!

It actually reminds me of the kind of character that Roald Dahl would create or something... Sort of along the lines of "The Twits".

What shocked me today?
My specialist... She brought up me having children again.

It seems to be the flavour of the year in regards to me and strangers telling me they see 2 children. She would be about the 6th person mentioning 2 children to me this year. Why always 2? Even my dream i have been having for years has always been 2 children!

Maybe they mean more pets?

My nephew!
He is only 4.
I LOVE how brutally honest children are.
It's no secret i have been ill and lost a great deal of my hair. By the time i got to Europe i had maybe only 1/3 of what i had 12 months earlier and it was falling out in small clumps. ANYWAY my nephew wanted to watch my videos today of me in England/Germany with the horses and look at the pictures also. So i sat there with him and we were watching and looking and he stopped and looked at my head and then at the picture and then back at my head and said: "Aunty! Your head isn't shaved anymore! You have hair!!!" And he grabbed all the new baby hairs on my forehead and yanked them so hard i screamed ouch and laughed all in one!

So i said to him that it's ok, he won't have a bald Aunty and he laughed and simply said: "It's ok if your bald..." and gave me such a huge hug.
I SOOOOO LOVE HIM TO BITS!
 <3

THEN we were doing story time and he was laying back and started to grab my left boob and i told him off and he asked why, so i explained to him and his response, as he sat upright all upset was: "But i LOVE boobs!" Again i burst out laughing and said: "It's ok, Kristian, we all do, BUT you aren't allowed to touch them!". He wasn't happy with that answer and said he would ask Dadda when Dadda got home!

I took the train to work this morning because the weather was not good enough to ride my bike.
When the train approached my station, it suddenly slowed down.
I thought it was due to a technical problem or a problem with another train in front of us.

Then we crawled into the station and I saw a man lying on the ground with his shirt off
and another man right next to him giving him CPR, desperately trying to save his life
Just like you see on tv,
They were about 1 m from the train when we passed them.

I have no idea if the poor man died. I will try to find out.

That image will stay with me for a while.

It was shocking and surreal and I keep thinking maybe I witnessed his last moments on this planet ...

That's an extremely sobering thought.

I've been in similar situations and it never gets easier seeing something like that. I know for me it got harder as it made me feel so helpless and small. Even though i knew the best people for the job were already there attending to them.

I know this might be a strange comment, but i hope his last moments of life and you witnessing them, somehow enrich your life. It may sound selfish but i am a strong believer in us being exactly where we need to be and experiencing what we need to experience to teach us something to help improve our lives.

If he did pass, whomever he was, may he rest in peace and hopefully, if he believed in the afterlife, there was a friendly face to greet him and help carry him over.

It reminded me once again of my own mortality and how precious life is. And how fast it can be over.
We have to do our best to enjoy our time here as much as possible.
And I don't mind if that image of him lying there stays with me.
For exactly those reasons I mentioned.

I havn't found out yet what happened to him.
There were a couple of short reports online but they didn't mention if he passed.
I am sure there would have been more coverage if he did.
So I hope for the best.
